GIS AG is expanding its product range in the field of light entertainment electric chain hoists. The successful LPL series is now also available for D8+ and C1 applications in addition to D8 uses. Weighing just 12 kg, the LPML250 is the lightest motor in its class and can lift loads of up to 500 kg in the D8 class. The LPL500 weighs 23 kg and has a maximum load capacity of 1,000 kg, while the LPL1000 weighs 46 kg and has a load capacity of 2,000 kg.
The LPL electric chain hoists are part of the proven LP series from GIS and were specially developed for D8 applications in mobile use, where riggers prefer particularly light motors, such as at concerts and open-air events. Thanks to the expansion, they can now also be used in D8+ projects (holding loads without secondary safety) and C1 scenarios (holding and moving loads above people) and are therefore ideally suited for fixed installations in theatres, concert halls and other venues. ‘Since its launch in 2020, our LPL range has quickly gained a reputation for offering outstanding performance with one of the best ratios between dead weight and load capacity,’ says Ivan Muri, CEO of GIS AG. ‘This expansion makes it possible to utilise these benefits in a variety of other areas.’
25 % higher lifting capacity
The LPL motors have chains with a larger cross-sectional area. This allows them to offer a 25 % higher load capacity compared to the LP series, while retaining their compact design and low weight. ‘For chain hoists that are typically used in groups, the higher lifting capacity means that fewer suspension points are required for the load and consequently fewer devices need to be installed. In other cases, the rigger can use a smaller electric chain hoist, which in addition to the lower weight also brings price advantages,’ adds Ivan Muri.
In addition to their outstanding performance values, the models in the LPL series are characterised in particular by their reliability and durability. They are supplied with a three-year warranty and IP65 protection as standard. The three-stage gearbox with helical gearing ensures quiet and efficient operation. Thanks to the modular design and polygonal connections, the chain hoists are particularly quick and easy to dismantle and reassemble for maintenance work.
